About the Role

The Senior Associate Financial Accountant plays a crucial role in preparing routine financial reports, processing journal entries, and overseeing the accounting month-end process. Key responsibilities include reporting costs, productivity, margins, and expenditures while offering financial recommendations to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under supervision, assists with implementing, controlling, and monitoring periodic compliance testing.
  • Supports the management of overall financial forecasting processes.
  • Reviews financial records to ensure adherence to company policies and accounting principles.
  • Undertakes regular reviews of the accuracy of regulatory calculations and submissions.
  • Reconciles accounts, resolves discrepancies, and collaborates across various finance and non-finance functions.
  • Analyzes journals, produces data analysis and reports, and assists with variance analysis.
  • Assembles annual audit information for external auditors.
  • Partners in improving efficiency using automation within the accounting process.
  • Analyzes past performance financial data and prepares budgets and forecasts for business unit management.
  • Implements effective financial controls, including systems reconciliations and ensuring the integrity of reported figures.
  • Supports the activities of the accounts receivable function within assigned business units.
  • Processes month-end activities, including preparation and processing of journal entries, loan and bank account entries, and reconciliations.
  • Performs cash management activities, produces bank reconciliations for company bank accounts, and processes necessary bank account entries.
  • Reviews tax calculations and reports to ensure compliance, including determining and managing sales tax compliance.
  • Reviews the credit vetting process to ensure that new accounts are opened in line with financial procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting or related field
  • Moderate experience gained in similar position
  • Moderate experience working with accounting software
