Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Security Analyst to work remotely in a security monitoring, incident detection and response environment. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Security Operations Center (SOC) environments with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate threats in real time.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring, analyzing and investigating security alerts using SIEM tools (IBM QRadar & Microsoft Sentinel).
  • Identifying, triaging and responding to security incidents across enterprise systems.
  • Developing and fine-tuning correlation rules, alerts and dashboards for proactive threat detection.
  • Conducting log analysis from multiple sources (firewalls, servers, endpoints, applications, cloud).
  • Collaborating with security teams to implement threat detection and incident response playbooks.
  • Providing detailed reports on incidents, vulnerabilities and security posture improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, the following skills and qualifications are necessary:

  • Proven experience working in a SOC environment with exposure to incident detection and response.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with IBM QRadar and Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Knowledge of log analysis, SIEM tuning and security event correlation.
  • Familiarity with threat intelligence, MITRE ATT&CK framework and incident response procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
