Lead R&D Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an expert and experienced Aerospace Mechanical Design & System Engineer to join our Advanced Technology group. Your primary responsibility will be to develop cutting-edge Thermal Management Systems, Air Management Systems, Life Support Systems, Electromechanical Products, High Temperature Materials, Coatings, Sensors, Predictive Health Monitoring, Digital Twins, AI/ML in Mechanical Design & Analysis, and Connected Systems that drive business value for Aerospace.

  • You will work closely with Chief Engineers, Global Advance Technology Partners, Product & Offering Managers to explore and identify new technology needs, mature technologies to TRL6, identify regional opportunities for cost-shared technology development, front-end discussions with customers to fully understand requirements, and provide technical solutions to delight customers.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • ME/MTech/BE/BTech in Engineering (Mechanical / Aerospace / Mechatronics) with 12+ years of experience in aerospace mechanical system & technology development.
  • Technology development expertise in aerospace electromechanical products, thermal management (heat exchangers), pneumatic valves, high temperature materials, sensors, coatings, mechanical design and analysis.
  • Demonstrated competency in advanced engineering and/or research and leading advanced engineering/research technology development programs.
