Job Title: Senior Data Platform Specialist

Our company seeks a seasoned data platform professional to lead the design, development, and operation of scalable data pipelines. The successful candidate will oversee cross-functional teams, define technical direction, and ensure seamless delivery of high-quality solutions.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in leading large-scale data engineering projects, with expertise in cloud-based infrastructure, data integration, workflow orchestration, and API design.

  • Technical Leadership: Direct technical teams, scope milestones, manage dependencies, and communicate status to stakeholders.
  • Architecture & Direction: Define target states, drive cost/performance guardrails, and implement reliability patterns.
  • Data Pipelines: Design, build, and operate batch and change-driven pipelines, handle schema evolution, and schedule/orchestrate jobs.
  • Transformations & Modeling: Implement merge/transformation pipelines, produce models for analytics consumption, and tune SQL for performance.
  • APIs & Integration: Build APIs for data access/updates, design request/response contracts, and handle authentication and validation.
  • Infrastructure & DevOps: Provision/manage cloud resources, automate build/test/deploy, and write shell scripts for glue/ops tasks.
  • Observability & Reliability: Instrument logs/metrics/traces, define SLOs, and lead incident reviews.
  • Security & Compliance: Apply least-privilege access, secrets management, and encryption.
  • Quality & Standards: Champion unit/integration/data-quality tests, enforce code health via reviews and linters.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership in data engineering or backend engineering.
  • Strong SQL and RDBMS fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in Python, Terraform, and CI/CD tools.
  • Cloud expertise in Azure or AWS.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration and API design.
  • Testing mindset and habit of writing tests.
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills.

  • Mentoring and interviewing experience.
  • Regulatory compliance awareness.
  • Analytics exposure and data platform architecture knowledge.
  • Experience with Kafka, streaming/message queues, and columnar formats.
