Business Valuation Professional

Job Summary:

As a Business Valuation Professional, you will be responsible for the valuation of businesses, business interests, and intangible assets.

  • Valuing businesses, business interests, and intangible assets for ASC 350, ASC 360, ASC 718/409A, ASC 820 and ASC 805, real estate, complex securities, and embedded derivatives.
  • Analyzing historical financial and operating results of target companies to explain business trends and identify risks.
  • Challenging assumptions related to future financial projections.
  • Assisting in the development of discount rates (WACC, IRR, WARA, etc.).
  • Conducting financial statement analysis (e.g., common size analysis, ratio analysis, trend analysis, and industry comparative analysis).
  • Performing market/industry research and developing industry growth estimates.
  • Constructing and reviewing valuation and other financial models.
  • Assisting with the design and preparation of valuation reports and other client deliverables.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required; advanced degree and/or certifications including MBA, CA, or CFA would be preferable.
  • Minimum 2+ years of demonstrated experience performing work related to fair value of debt, equity, purchase price allocation, and/or goodwill impairments in a public accounting, consulting, or investment banking environment.
  • A fundamental understanding of financial valuation theory, methodologies, Experience in traditional valuation methods such as discounted cash flow method, guideline public company method and guidance transaction method.
  • Experience in valuing contingent consideration and valuation for mergers & acquisitions, and other transactions.
  • Experience in building, analyzing, and reviewing financial models for high-level decision-making.
  • Comprehensive experience with financial databases such as Capital IQ, Bloomberg, and other high-level tools.
  • Track record of managing multiple high-stakes projects and delivering under tight deadlines.
  • Functional understanding of financial statements analysis with the ability to work through key assumptions, implicit caveats, and limitations.
  • Demonstrated technical skills working with financial models in Excel.
