Freelance SAS Modeler Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Freelance SAS Modeler Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing and maintaining statistical/predictive models using SAS and Python.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain complex statistical models using SAS and Python, ensuring high accuracy and reliability.
  • Lead the migration of SAS-based systems to Python, guaranteeing seamless transitions and minimizing downtime.
  • Translate SAS macros, procedures, and workflows into optimized Python equivalents, improving code efficiency and maintainability.
  • Establish best practices for modeling, workflow management, and performance monitoring, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Mentor team members on Python adoption, coding practices, and analytics workflows, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
Requirements:
  • Expert-level proficiency in SAS, including Base SAS, SAS/STAT, Enterprise Miner, Visual Analytics, PROC SQL, and macros, with a strong understanding of advanced statistical concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of Python libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, matplotlib, seaborn, and PySpark, with expertise in data analysis and machine learning.
  • Deep understanding of statistical concepts like regression, forecasting, clustering, classification, A/B testing, and causal inference, with the ability to apply them in real-world scenarios.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale migrations from SAS to Python, with a track record of success and improved efficiency.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills to influence stakeholders and deliver high-impact results, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
