Job Description

Vellko Media Private Limited is seeking a skilled Sr Accountant with a strong educational background and experience in AP, financial statement finalization, and process handling.

  • Finalize accounts and prepare financial statements in compliance with Indian Accounting Standards, leading the monthly/quarterly financial closing and reporting.
  • Reconcile accounts with high-volume financial transactions and data.
  • Collaborate with external auditors for statutory reporting and assist with audit/tax compliance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate maintenance of financial books and records.
  • Work closely with the plant head and VP of Operations to understand upcoming purchases and create cash flow needs.
  • Reconcile inventory positions and understand the cost of goods sold.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, insurance providers, banks, and other vendors and key stakeholders.
  • Implement continuous process improvements to enhance reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, especially VLOOKUP and Pivot Table, and working with large/complex data sets.
  • File GST/PT/TDS returns.
  • Handle payroll and ensure timely disbursement.
  • Assist in the monthly close process for team's cost accounting tasks, including inventory reconciliation and invoicing calculation.
  • Provide technical guidance and ensure consistent application of cost accounting principles on the manufacturing site.
  • Lead the strategic direction for Cost Accounting.
  • Develop new processes to drive productivity in the cost accounting function and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional service to clients in line with our service standards.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of all clients' financial matters.
  • Stay up-to-date with applicable taxation and other relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
  • Develop a system to account for financial transactions.
  • Maintain historical records by filing documents.
  • Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of accounting experience in the corporate/business sector.
  • Experience in AP and AR using Zoho Accounts Accounting.
  • Education background with a Bachelor's or Master's in Commerce.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, US Accounting, and Taxation process.
  • Experience working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
  • Must be a CPA candidate or enrolled.
  • Good English communication skills.
