Job Description

Closers are responsible for reviewing loan packages and creating the initial and subsequent closing disclosures. They work closely with title and settlement agents to ensure timely closures and accuracy of CD data.

Responsibilities:
  • Request fees from settlement agents and perform fee analysis
  • Prepare preliminary closing disclosure
  • Issue initial closing disclosures/re-disclosures to clients
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of conventional loans, closing and legal documents, disclosure documents, credit documents, insurance documents, MDIA disclosure timing and APR rules, and TILA/RESPA LE/CDs/ICDs
  • Review flood insurance/flood certifications, title commitment, ownership of deed, loan approval, tax certification, and preliminary closing disclosures
  • Monitor individual closing pipelines, workloads, and volume levels for maximum balance and efficiency
  • Review power of attorneys (POAs)
  • Review cash to close
  • Create closing documents and monitor required waiting periods
  • Request preclosing audit prior to closure
  • Deliver final closing documents
  • Review final closing documents and clear to fund
  • Understand regulatory requirements and their impacts
  • Moderate to high degree of familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
  • Reviews and prepares disclosures, including Loan Estimate and Closing Disclosure
  • Request wire transfers
  • Evaluate disbursement and loan movement to post-close status
  • Ensure effective communication with settlement agents
  • Review signed closing packages for accuracy
  • Authorize funding to title/escrow agents
Requirements:
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent for US operations and 18 months of experience in preparing initial and final closing documents for India operations
  • Should have knowledge of commonly used mortgage concepts, practices, and procedures, as well as Fannie Freddie guidelines, to complete tasks
  • Working knowledge of any loan origination systems is beneficial
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office tools is necessary
  • Dependence on limited experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals
