Physics Specialist

About this role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Physics Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our research group, you will be working on projects that involve fine-tuning large language models using your strong analytical and English comprehension skills.

  • The ideal candidate should have a solid foundation in physics, particularly at the PhD level expected in programs.
  • You should be able to break down complex physics concepts into simple clear explanations and work efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and solving challenging physics problems to probe the limitations of large language models.
  • Creating clear high-quality step-by-step solutions with well-articulated reasoning.
  • Collaborating with LLM researchers to align problems with evaluation goals especially in areas where models typically struggle.
  • Help defining new evaluation benchmarks based on physics curricula spanning early undergraduate to PhD-level topics.

Requirements:

  • Qualification: Candidates currently pursuing a Ph.D./Postdoctoral degree in physics, applied physics, or related fields are eligible to apply.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations.
  • Creative thinking abilities.
  • Excellent structured communication and collaboration skills in remote settings.
  • Self-motivated and independent work in remote settings.
  • A desktop/Laptop setup with good internet connection.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Complex problem-solving skills with logical approaches.
