Job Description

A System Administrator is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our cloud-based infrastructure. This includes monitoring Helix Cloud Service using BMC Software Tooling and alerting systems.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for impact situations and escalate to the wider team when necessary.

Regular communication with customer, internal, and external stakeholders is crucial to ensure that everyone is informed and up-to-date.

This role involves providing Tier 1 level troubleshooting and isolation of application events, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with the team and stakeholders.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience. Additionally, the ideal candidate should have at least 2-3 years of experience in a cloud-based or IT industry environment.

Desirable skills include expertise in Kubernetes, Rancher, Linux, Database MSSQL, and Postgres. Familiarity with BMC-Remedy Products and directory services such as Active Directory/SAML is also beneficial.

Other desirable qualifications include ITIL foundation certification, knowledge of networking concepts, and experience working in a Help Desk, Technical Call Center, NOC, or equivalent environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure
  • Providing Tier 1 level support and troubleshooting
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions
  • Collaborating with the team and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and problem-solving

Requirements:

  • BS/BE degree in CS/EE or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in a cloud-based or IT industry environment
  • Emphasis primarily on Kubernetes-K8, Rancher, Linux, Database MSSQL, and Postgres
