Production Operations Manager

The Production Operations Manager will support the Factory Manager in managing the manufacturing unit's day-to-day operations, ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly production targets are consistently met with optimum quality, efficiency, and cost control. This role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and a results-oriented approach in a high-volume garment manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive daily, weekly, and monthly production target achievement in alignment with customer orders and business commitments.
  • Monitor line-wise productivity and take timely corrective measures to address shortfalls.
  • Support capacity planning and scheduling to ensure optimal resource utilization.
  • Oversee end-to-end operations across production, quality, maintenance, and material flow.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and other process improvement methods.
  • Minimize downtime and ensure smooth workflow across all production lines.
  • Ensure all products meet defined quality standards (AQL, buyer specifications).
  • Support regular in-line and end-line quality checks.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory norms, safety protocols, and labor laws.
  • Assist in improving cost efficiency and optimizing manpower, machinery, and materials usage.
  • Supervise and guide production supervisors, quality leads, and support staff.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production and performance reports.
  • Coordinate closely with the Factory Manager, Merchandising, and Supply Chain teams to meet delivery timelines.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • B.Tech / B.E. (Textile / Garment Technology) or equivalent diploma in Apparel Manufacturing accepted for exceptional candidates.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in apparel manufacturing with significant exposure to high-volume production.
  • Proven experience in achieving daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing targets.
  • Sound knowledge of garment manufacturing processes, sewing line balancing, fabric types, trims, and finishing.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and ISO quality systems is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and deliver results in tight timelines.
