About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Digital Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative digital solutions that meet our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable digital systems using Ruby on Rails
  • Implement efficient data storage and retrieval mechanisms using PostgreSQL
  • Optimize system performance using techniques such as caching, indexing, and query planning
  • Ensure high availability and reliability through robust error handling and logging
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop solutions

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Ruby language fundamentals, idioms, and metaprogramming
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), mixins, blocks, procs, and lambdas
  • Familiarity with memory management, GC tuning, and performance profiling
  • Experience with frameworks like Ruby on Rails, Grape, ActiveRecord, ActiveJob, ActionCable, ActiveModel validations, Engines, initializers, routing, and lifecycle callbacks
  • Comfortable deploying and optimizing Passenger, Thin
  • Deeper understanding of Thread vs. process models, Connection handling, worker tuning, memory profiling
  • PostgreSQL and advanced usage of ActiveRecord
  • Experience optimizing N+1 queries, indexes, and query plans
  • Proficient with Bundler, Rake, Rubygems
  • Gem building and custom gem publishing
  • Knowledge of RVM, rbenv, chruby
