Structural Design Expert

We are seeking an experienced Structural Design Expert to join our team in delivering high-quality structural designs for commercial buildings. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for performing structural analysis and design, leading seismic design efforts, and collaborating with other disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Structural Analysis and Design: Perform structural analysis and design for commercial buildings using industry-standard software and best practices.
  • Seismic Design: Lead seismic design efforts for new and existing structures, including peer reviews and checks to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • BIM Coordination: Utilize BIM systems to develop 2D/3D models and drawings for concept, detailed design, and construction documentation.
  • Modular Framing Systems: Apply modular framing systems and detailing standard welded sections to optimize fabrication and installation.
  • Value Engineering: Conduct value engineering on designs to improve constructability, reduce cost and programme risk, and maintain performance.
  • Collaboration: Closely coordinate with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical services to resolve interfaces and requirements.
Requirements:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Experience: 5+ years' structural engineering experience in the Australian commercial sector preferred.
  • Skills: Demonstrated seismic analysis and design expertise, proven experience integrating structural designs with other services, hands-on use of Revit and BIM systems for structural documentation, experience applying modular framing systems and detailing standard welded sections, track record of value engineering and delivering cost-effective solutions.
Technical Competencies:
  • Structural Design: Steel, concrete, secondary/supporting systems.
  • Seismic Design: Detailing.
  • BIM Coordination: Clash resolution in Revit.
  • Detailing: Standard welded sections and connections.
  • Interface Management: Mechanical equipment loads.
