The role of the WMS Consultant involves acting as a liaison between business users and IT departments, providing support for IT projects and daily monitoring and issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle tickets and application support to end-users, analyzing and resolving issues.
  • Transfer issues requiring development support to the development team for completion.
  • Raise service requests for Oracle support and coordinate with Oracle support teams until closure.
  • Prepare MD050/MD060 documents, test cases, test data, and conduct testing.
  • Coordinate with leads/managers/key users and other teams for issue resolutions and obtain sign-off for releases to production.
  • Train end-users and prepare training materials.
  • Coordinate with other module consultants/technical consultants/DBAs/developers.
  • Create process documents and update them if necessary.
  • Provide daily production support, including monitoring and issue resolution, incident management, problem management, and service request management.
  • Offer 24x5 on-call assistance for production business system issues, with occasional weekend support.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end tasks as needed.
  • Become a subject matter expert in system management.
  • Take ownership of tasks and ensure their accurate and timely completion.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements through automation and alerts.
  • Review requirements and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain documentation of assigned systems and process flow.
  • Meet Service Level Agreements for Incident and Problem Management.
  • Design long-term solutions and suggest service improvements.
  • Work collaboratively and independently as a team player.
  • Focus on clearing logistics issues related to picking, shipping, cycle counting, receiving, and more.
  • Clear stuck transactions for Shipping/Receiving during Month/Quarter/Year Ends.
Enhancements to Business Systems:
  • Responsible for analysis, design, and implementation of new or enhanced business systems following IT standards.
  • Develop business and IT requirement lists, including definitions and system flows.
  • Work with technical analysts and development teams to understand specifications.
  • Implement changes, including testing, readiness assessments, training, hardware capacity evaluations, and performance evaluations.
  • Train IT and business team members about system changes.
