Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing large-scale cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Your primary focus will be on ensuring the availability, scalability, and security of our cloud-based systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and monitor the availability of cloud infrastructure, identifying and resolving production-level issues in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain automation tools for provisioning, configuration management, and deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Establish and maintain monitoring and alerting systems for detection and response to incidents.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers during incidents, providing explanations, recommending immediate mitigations, and offering long-term solutions.
• Investigate customer escalations, working closely with engineering support and sales teams to implement solutions.
• Perform post-mortem analysis of system failures, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
• Participate in rotational on-call schedules based on need to ensure availability in emergency situations.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure costs, monitoring and controlling the use of cloud resources, and implementing cost-saving measures and recommendations.
• Experience implementing security best practices and compliance measures in production environments.
• Proficient with cloud infrastructure automation, configuration management, and deployment automation, with a significant portion of AWS used for mid-to-large-sized deployments.
• Design, architect, and run large-scale cloud infrastructure, familiar with security best practices and compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, including oral, written, and listening skills.
• Experience with stress testing and tuning production systems using tools such as K6 Locust.
• Manage reverse proxies, web servers on large-scale production levels, experience managing scripting languages such as Python, Bash.
• Experienced in using AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, and AWS Cost Usage Reports to optimize costs and ensure efficient resource utilization.
• Proficient in designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure with AWS, experience working with Kafka, Elasticsearch, and RabbitMQ observation tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure architecture, design, and implementation.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and CloudFormation.
• Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks, including PCI DSS, HIPAA, and GDPR.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including protocols, routing, and switching.
• Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
