Job Description

As a lead risk analyst, you will play a crucial role in guiding analysts and implementing best practices in modelling operations. You will be responsible for transforming raw exposure data, analyzing P&C insurance exposures using catastrophe risk modelling software, and generating reports using internal tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the account or portfolio modelling practice by providing technical guidance and being hands-on whenever required.
  • Implement industry-standard best practices in modelling operations to ensure high-quality results and meet clients' expectations.
  • Develop and maintain databases of raw exposure data, ensuring its accuracy and integrity.
  • Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations, and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new models and algorithms, improving overall efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and deliver reports on data quality, exposure, loss, and impact summaries, as well as maps using GIS tools.
  • Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders, providing actionable insights to inform business decisions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, emerging trends, and technological advancements, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline, such as engineering, mathematics, statistics, economics, or actuarial science.
  • At least 8 years of experience working with risk modelling software, including RiskLink, Touchstone, or RQE, with a strong understanding of backend tables schema.
  • Extensive experience in modelling various regions, perils, lines, and complex policy/treaty conditions.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Excellent technical leadership, communication, and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and train junior analysts.
