Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management and cloud infrastructure.

This role is responsible for provisioning, configuring, and maintaining cloud-hosted databases. The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring database performance and ensuring data security, backup, and recovery processes are implemented and adhered to.

In addition, the Cloud Database Administrator will assist in creating users, roles, and permission policies for database access, troubleshoot basic database issues, and document procedures and operational best practices.

The successful candidate will work closely with the DevOps and development teams to ensure seamless integration and collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Provisioning, configuring, and maintaining cloud-hosted databases
  • Monitoring database performance and ensuring data security, backup, and recovery processes
  • Assisting in creating users, roles, and permission policies for database access
  • Troubleshooting basic database issues
  • Documenting procedures and operational best practices
RequirementsSkills and Qualifications
  • Strong background in database management and cloud infrastructure
  • Familiarity with at least one cloud platform (AWS / Azure / GCP) and their database offerings
  • Knowledge of database backup, restore, and disaster recovery fundamentals
  • Awareness of database security best practices
  • Good problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Educational Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Cloud certifications (AWS Cloud Practitioner / Azure Fundamentals / Google Cloud Digital Leader) will be an added advantage
Preferred Skills
  • Academic projects or internships involving database management
  • Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation
