Job Title: Data Engineering Expert

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and maintain efficient ETL workflows using cloud-based data platforms.
  • Optimize ETL jobs and troubleshoot performance issues to ensure data pipelines are robust, scalable and error-free.
  • Data Migration & Transformation: Handle data profiling, transform data from source systems to a data warehouse and implement advanced data modeling principles.
  • Cloud & SQL Expertise: Leverage in-depth knowledge of cloud data platforms like AWS (Redshift, S3).
  • Advanced Proficiency in SQL/PLSQL for complex data querying, manipulation and optimization.
  • Client Collaboration: Work directly with clients to gather requirements, manage expectations and deliver high-quality data solutions on projects with tight deadlines.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the overall data strategy by working in an Agile environment and continuously seeking ways to improve data modeling and ETL practices.

Technical Skills:

  • Matillion: Strong hands-on experience with Matillion ETL (version 4.x or later) and Matillion DPC (Data Productivity Cloud).
  • Database: Advanced proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Cloud Platforms: In-depth experience with cloud data platforms like AWS (Redshift, S3).
  • Data Engineering: Expertise in data migration, data profiling and data modeling principles (star schema, snowflake schema).
  • Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash or Java.
  • Big Data: Familiarity with big data frameworks like Spark.
  • Version Control: Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD practices.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Cloud certification from AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.

Experience & Education:

  • Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of experience in ETL development, data engineering or data integration.
  • At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Matillion in cloud environments.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field is required. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics) are a plus.
