Job Title: Maritime Engineering Specialist

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maritime Engineering Specialist to collaborate with our team of Data Scientists and develop innovative digital solutions for large Container Ships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze historical container ship operations data, including noon reports and EEXI reports, to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Conceptualize and build Digital Twins of large Container vessels, incorporating vessel hydrodynamic performance models and predictive models for Parametric / Synchronous rolling.
  • Identify relevant data needed to build Container Ship Digital Twin, including windage, vessel speed, drift, trim, heel, hull condition, propeller condition, and engine condition.
  • Guide Data Scientists with domain inputs for building the Digital Twin, ensuring accurate modeling of fuel consumption, power decomposition, and other parameters affecting vessel performance.
  • Tactical solutions for avoiding Parametric and Synchronous rolling, including methods to alert concerned parties with recommendations for optimal route planning and vessel operation.
  • Develop AI/ML solutions recommending vessel speed through water, overconsumption alerts, fouling margin, and other key performance indicators.
  • Visualize the Vessel Digital Twin for end-users, providing insights into vessel performance, fuel efficiency, and environmental impact.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Extensive experience in maritime engineering, including container ship operations and vessel design.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis and visualization tools, including Python and Tableau.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Data Scientists and subject matter experts.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.
