Senior SQL Database Administrator Job Summary

This is a senior-level position for an experienced SQL database administrator responsible for the installation, configuration, management, monitoring, and troubleshooting of SQL 2005 – SQL 2022 databases. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge on SQL Server Architecture, T-SQL, Triggers, and Procedures.

Main Responsibilities
  • Database Administration: Install, configure, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot SQL 2005 - SQL 2022 databases.
  • Patching and Upgrades: Install Service Packs, Cumulative Updates, Hotfixes (GDR, QFE), and perform upgrades/migrations from older to newer SQL Server versions.
  • Backup and Recovery: Configure recovery models, design backup strategies, fine-tune backups using Backup Encryption, Compression, and special parameters.
  • HA/DR Solutions: Configure HA/DR solutions such as Clustering, Always-On Group, Replications, and troubleshooting.
  • Patch Management: Manage all types of patches.
  • Server Capacity Monitoring: Monitor, analyze, and tune server capacity.
Mandatory Skills
  • Strong knowledge on SQL Server Architecture, T-SQL, Triggers, and Procedures.
  • Administration and configuration of HA/ DR solutions.
  • Configuring and managing all types of Replications.
  • Patch management.
  • Always On AG scenarios.
  • Server capacity monitoring, analysis, and tuning activities.
