Backend Software Engineer Opportunity

We are revolutionizing the pet care industry with our cutting-edge AI-powered pet super app and smart collar ecosystem.

  • You will have the exciting opportunity to design and implement scalable REST/GraphQL APIs and microservices that drive our core flows.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement scalable backend systems that power bookings, payments, collar telemetry ingestion, medical records, and marketplace workflows.
  • Design and implement data models and database schemas optimized for performance and operational simplicity using Postgres/Mongo.
  • Implement robust authentication, authorization, payments integrations, audit trails, and secure data handling for medical/health data.
  • Design and operate data ingestion pipelines for FitYosa devices (telemetry, location, analytics) ensuring durability and near-real-time processing.
  • Implement caching, queueing, and backpressure strategies to keep the system performant under load.
  • Ship observability and create runbooks for common operational scenarios.
  • Collaborate closely with product, mobile, AI, and hardware teams to translate product requirements into reliable backend systems.

What We Expect From You:

  • 2-4 years of experience building production backend systems with Node.js and frameworks like Express/Nest.
  • Strong experience with PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB: schema design, indexing, query optimization.
  • Practical knowledge of caching (Redis) and message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ/SQS).
  • Cloud experience: deploying services, setting up infra, and managing costs.
  • Familiarity with Docker and basic orchestration concepts (Kubernetes experience is a plus).
  • Practical understanding of security best practices: tokens, encryption in transit/at rest, OWASP risks.
  • Track record of owning features end-to-end and shipping in a fast, iterative environment.
  • Clear communicator who can work in an in-office, collaborative team.
