Job Overview

The LMS Associate plays a pivotal role in crafting and maintaining engaging courses on Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). This involves course content creation, word document formatting, stakeholder collaboration, and adhering to high-quality learning experiences. Course creation is an art that requires skillful hands. Developing and organizing content pages, HTML pages, quizzes, assignments, and documents according to design document guidelines and accessibility standards demands attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain courses in Canvas LMS, ensuring alignment with instructional design specifications. Maintaining these courses ensures their quality does not diminish over time.
• Develop, format, and organize content pages, HTML pages, quizzes, assignments, and documents according to design document guidelines and accessibility standards. Ensuring compliance with these guidelines enables smooth delivery of the course material.
• Manage course assets, guaranteeing they meet quality standards. This includes images, videos, and other multimedia elements. Effective asset management results in higher engagement levels among students.
• Edit content on Content Management System (CMS). Editing content accurately helps maintain its integrity throughout the course lifecycle.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure learning materials meet quality and accessibility standards. Conducting thorough quality checks leads to improved learning outcomes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve LMS-related issues during course setup and delivery, collaborating with relevant teams for solutions. Effective problem-solving skills are essential to overcome obstacles that arise during the course setup process.
• Work closely with internal and external teams to guarantee project requirements and specifications are met. Collaboration helps ensure that all aspects of the course are aligned with the client's needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technology or a related field. A solid educational foundation in technology is necessary for success in this role.
• 1-4 years of working knowledge on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience with web development technologies helps create visually appealing and interactive course materials.
• Experience working on the Canvas LMS and/or CMS is beneficial. Familiarity with the platform streamlines course creation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards for course design. Understanding accessibility principles helps ensure inclusivity in course materials.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and authoring tools such as Articulate 360 and H5P. Proficiency in office software applications helps with content creation and editing.
