Strategic Education Specialist

Echidna Giving is seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to take ownership of our Primary Foundational Learning strategy in India. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing an India-specific strategy, administering existing grants, and identifying opportunities for advancing Echidna Giving's goals.
This challenging yet rewarding opportunity requires over 12 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in positions that demand ownership of independent decision-making. Strong knowledge and expertise in the education sector, specifically Primary Foundational Learning, with a commitment to gender equity in education are essential.
Main Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement India-Specific Strategy: Create a comprehensive strategy to drive systems change in Primary Foundational Learning in India.
- Grant Administration and Support: Administer and support an existing portfolio of approximately 5 grants, ensuring effective management and monitoring of grantee performance.
- Identify High-Leverage Opportunities: Help identify the highest leverage opportunities for advancing Echidna Giving's goals, shaping the way the strategy gets implemented and contextualized.
- Expand Grant Portfolio: Identify new grantees aligned with Echidna Giving's Primary Foundational Learning strategy, with an emphasis on organizations based in the countries where they work and led by leaders from those countries.
- Over 12 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in positions that demand ownership of independent decision-making.
- Strong knowledge and expertise in the education sector, specifically Primary Foundational Learning, with a commitment to gender equity in education.
- Experience or expertise in areas such as gender transformative education programming, leadership, and organizational development is a plus.
