Role Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to work on implementing road safety, green mobility, and low emission zones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enabling Low Emission Zones:
    • Tailor a framework for Mathura based on international best practices.
    • Conduct baseline assessment of vehicular and industrial emissions in the city.
    • Identify vehicle categories, emission thresholds, and compliance strategies for the LEZ.
    • Develop monitoring mechanisms including use of Vahan data, ANPR, on-ground enforcement.
    • Assess sustainable mobility solutions: EV adoption pathways, public transport electrification, NMT integration, and multimodal connectivity.
  • Strengthen Road Safety, Placemaking, Streetscaping and Capacity Building:
    • Design Analysis and Project Development: Understand site specific urban challenges and create or support viable design strategies.
    • Tactical Urbanism: Collaborate with the team to implement temporary design changes to test improvements and gather feedback.
    • Training and Development: Conduct internal and external workshops to raise awareness on street design and road safety principles.
    • Reporting and Communication: Prepare regular progress reports summarizing program activities and achievements.
    • Creative Development: Create visual aids like posters and presentations for training programs and community engagement initiatives.
  • Community Engagement and Outreach:
    • Raahgiri Days: Assist in organizing Raahgiri Days and public awareness campaigns that promote street design for improved sustainability, safety, and community interaction.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in environmental science, Urban Planning or Design.
  • Proven experience working on urban spatial and/or environmental issues preferably in air pollution control, EV policy integration, and urban design.
  • Understanding of urban mobility challenges and policies.
  • Excellent research, data analysis, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Responsiveness to stakeholder needs and requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and data analysis tools.
  • Hindi and English fluency is required.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience working on green mobility projects in India or abroad.
  • Knowledge of government policies related to urban design, air quality, and transportation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks CAFE, BS-VI emission norms, NCAP, FAME.
