Linux System Administrator Role

Job Description:

  • Provide advanced technical support for Linux systems in a high-pressure banking environment.
  • Ensure strict adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Operate under ITIL best practices (Incident/Change/Problem/Knowledge).
  • Maintain optimal system performance, availability, and security; participate in disaster recovery and business continuity drills.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and manage authorized platform changes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for recurring problems and implement permanent fixes.
  • Optimize system configurations and schedule jobs to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Coordinate vendor technical assistance cases, firmware updates, and validate post-change health checks.
  • Demonstrate exceptional documentation skills, runbook maintenance, and clear communication with stakeholders.

Requirements:

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • At least 6 years of experience in L2-level Linux support, or 10+ years in L3-level support.
  • Proficiency in Linux virtualization, RHEL, CentOS, Debian GNU, FreeBSD, and Ubuntu operating systems.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide strong support to colleagues.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
