Design Advocate for Rural Digital Experiences

Serve as a champion for user-centric design principles, shaping the look and feel of digital products that serve farmers and rural communities.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement design strategies that prioritize usability, accessibility, and cultural relevance.

• Conduct thorough user research, incorporating field visits, surveys, and usability testing to inform design decisions.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless implementation and effective communication of design requirements.

• Create prototypes and wireframes using Figma and Miro, ensuring intuitive interfaces and scalable design systems.

• Maintain awareness of industry trends, competitor interfaces, and evolving UX best practices to drive innovation and excellence.

Requirements:

• 5–8 years of experience in UI/UX design, with a focus on mobile-first products and at least 3 years designing for large-scale applications.

• Proven track record of shipping successful rural customer-facing apps with measurable adoption and engagement impact.

• Hands-on experience with user research, usability testing, A/B testing, and iterative design methodologies.

Preferred Skills:

• Expertise in Figma / Adobe XD and prototyping tools.

• Strong understanding of information architecture, interaction design, and visual hierarchy.

• Familiarity with design systems, UI patterns, and style guides.

• Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS and awareness of front-end engineering constraints.

Leadership Competencies:

• Clear and concise communication skills, bridging gaps between design, product, engineering, and business stakeholders.

• Ability to advocate for user needs while balancing business and technical priorities.

• Decisive, detail-oriented, and iterative, with a bias for practical, actionable design solutions.

• Comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments with frequent feedback.

Industry Knowledge (Preferred):

• Familiarity with AgTech user journeys, farmer-facing digital adoption, and rural UX patterns.

• Awareness of geospatial/AI-driven advisories, digital agriculture workfl ows, and trust-building for rural audiences.
