Senior Paraplanner Job Description

The role of Senior Paraplanner is a senior-level position that involves providing technical support to senior advisers in the preparation of Statements of Advice (SoAs) and Records of Advice (RoAs). This requires detailed financial modeling, legislative research, and product analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Australian financial advice regulations and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Prepare compliant Statements of Advice (SoAs) and Records of Advice (RoAs).
  • Financial Modeling: Conduct detailed financial modeling and legislative research to support advice.
  • Product Analysis: Analyze products to ensure they meet client needs.

Strategy Paper Development:

  • Build and Draft Strategy Papers: Develop comprehensive strategy papers outlining rationale, benefits, risks, and implementation approach for recommended strategies.
  • Collaborate with Advisers: Work with senior advisers to refine and present strategy documentation during the advice process.

Implementation and Client Workflow:

  • Client Implementation: Execute full pre-boarding, onboarding, and implementation of client strategies.
  • Workflow Management: Manage rollovers, contributions, investment switches, insurance applications, and other advice actions from end to end.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 4 years' experience in paraplanning or technical financial advice support roles.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of Australian financial advice regulations, compliance, and client strategy.
  • Education: Degree in Financial Planning, Accounting, Business, or related field (preferred but not essential).
