Job Overview

The role of a Senior Performance Tester is critical in the development of comprehensive performance testing strategies, including detailed performance testing requirements and translating these requirements into appropriate scenarios to replicate production.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain technical expertise in performance/load testing methodologies.
  • Design and develop solutions for supporting cloud-based technologies and CI/CD processes.
  • Communicate effectively across multiple teams and external vendors when required.
  • Monitor server metrics using APM tools.
  • Participate in continuous improvement measures to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of automation.
  • Innovate and implement solutions for industry-standard requirements.
  • Analyze business requirements, solution designs, and process documentation to identify feasible business-critical transactions.
  • Implement best performance test practices and standards as part of enterprise solutions.

Operational Management

  • Conduct endurance, stress, load, and volume testing to validate production readiness of software applications and infrastructure for stability and performance.
  • Provide performance testing software systems support for respective business units.
  • Coordinate and execute creation of test cases, scripts, and performance test execution.
  • Design, develop, and execute scripts that validate test cases defined within project test plans to a high degree of confidence.
  • Perform load testing across multiple messaging protocols, focusing on overall application performance and validating application responses accurately reflecting business requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 7+ years of performance testing experience.
  • Min 5 years of experience with OpenText LoadRunner, using protocols Citrix, RDP, Java, and performance testing mobile technologies and databases.
  • Significant experience working with Jmeter and APM tools, including NewRelic and Graphana.
  • Proven experience with SOAP Web Services and RESTful Web Services testing using SOAP UI, Postman, and Swagger.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in performance testing principles, techniques, and standards, such as test design, test execution, test reporting, and test management.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software quality assurance (SQA) processes and practices, such as agile, waterfall, and DevOps.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in CI/CD tools and practices, such as Jenkins, Azure repo, Bitbucket, Azure Devops, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience working on continuous improvement projects is desirable.
  • Experience working in distributed delivery models with teams spread across different regions will be advantageous.
