
Raw Materials Inventory Manager

Job Summary:
The Raw Materials Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and issuance of raw materials to ensure timely availability and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the raw material inventory, including receiving, storing, and issuing materials as needed.
- Ensure all raw materials are properly labeled, identified, and stored according to SOPs and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular stock verification, cycle counts, and reconciliation of physical vs. system stock to maintain accuracy.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Production, and Quality teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials without disrupting production.
- Maintain a first-in, first-out (FIFO) or first-expired, first-out (FEFO) system for material issuance.
- Monitor storage conditions (temperature, humidity, cleanliness) to maintain material quality and prevent damage.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, GMP, and other regulatory requirements for raw material handling and storage.
- Manage documentation, including GRNs, stock registers, bin cards, and SAP/ERP entries to maintain accurate records.
- Identify slow-moving, non-moving, or expired raw materials and coordinate for proper disposal as per guidelines.
- Support audits (internal/external) by ensuring documentation accuracy and store readiness.
- Train and supervise inventory staff on material handling, safety, and SOP adherence.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Science, Commerce, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in raw material inventory management, preferably in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or manufacturing industry.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of inventory management techniques, including FIFO, FEFO, and just-in-time (JIT) delivery.
- Strong understanding of ISO 13485, GMP, and regulatory compliance related to raw material handling and storage.
Required Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of inventory management and material control principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Good communication and coordination skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage a team of inventory staff and provide guidance and training as needed.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and ERP systems, including data analysis and reporting.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
