Cloud Platform Specialist

This is a high-level engineering position focused on developing and maintaining scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain the core components of our internal developer platform, including APIs, tools, and infrastructure.
  • Self-Service Capabilities: Build self-service capabilities that enable developers to provision infrastructure, deploy applications, and manage their environments independently.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement and maintain IaC using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
  • Golden Paths: Develop and maintain golden paths for common development tasks, ensuring consistency and best practices.
  • Architecture and Design: Contribute to the overall architecture and design of our cloud infrastructure.
  • Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools into the platform.
Developer Enablement:
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to understand their needs and pain points.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to developers on how to use the platform effectively.
  • Feedback Loop: Gather feedback from developers and iterate on the platform based on their needs.
  • Documentation: Document platform features and best practices.
  • Champion: Champion a developer-centric approach to platform development.
Automation and Efficiency:
  • Task Automation: Automate infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and other repetitive tasks.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline the software delivery process.
  • Workflow Optimization: Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the development workflow.
  • Monitoring and Alerting: Implement monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of the platform.
Security and Compliance:
  • Platform Security: Ensure that the platform is secure and compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Best Practices: Implement security best practices throughout the platform.
  • Collaboration: Work with security teams to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in software development, infrastructure engineering, or a related role.
  • Cloud Computing: Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • IaC Tools: Experience with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Containerization: Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Automation Tools: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
  • Programming Language: Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java).
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills.
