Cloud Operations Engineer Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure costs across multiple platforms.
  • Track daily/weekly usage, spending patterns, and billing reports to identify anomalies.
  • Develop and maintain scripts for cost reporting, resource clean-up, and efficiency improvements.
  • Work with engineering teams to right-size compute, storage, and database resources.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving strategies using native tools and third-party monitoring platforms.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP services (EC2, S3, IAM, GKE, BigQuery, etc.).
  • Experience in cloud cost monitoring & optimization.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (Python, Bash, Shell, etc.).
  • Understanding of SRE concepts: reliability, scalability, monitoring, and automation.
  • Prior experience in cost analysis and optimization for enterprise workloads.
