About the Position

We are seeking a Data Researcher to join our Commodities Data Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and comprehensiveness of our data sets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, summarize, and synthesize relevant information from internal and external sources, including government documents, regulatory reports, industry journals, and databases.
  • Analyze timely news stories and market commentary on oil markets across US, Europe, and Africa.
  • Monitor new trends, deals, and market intelligence in the commodity trade market.
  • Assist in answering data-related client questions, both internal and external, to ensure platform user issues are investigated and status updates provided to client-facing team members.
  • Collaborate with Analysts, Data Collections, and IT to resolve data issues and understand data.
  • Perform ad-hoc data tasks and research to enable product development and increase data coverage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in any field with Energy, Oil, and Gas as a major or minor subject.
  • 2-4 years of experience in data management, research, and analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to interact effectively across all levels.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and SQL.
  • Basic or intermediate skill level in Python is preferred.
