Primary Responsibility: To apply software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response to ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of systems, platforms, and technology.

Purpose of the Role:

  • Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of systems and services through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning.
  • Resolve, analyze, and respond to system outages and disruptions, and implement measures to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
  • Develop tools and scripts to automate operational processes, reducing manual workload, increasing efficiency, and improving system resilience.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance and resource usage, identify and address bottlenecks, and implement best practices for performance tuning.

Accountabilities:

  1. Availability, Performance, and Scalability: Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of systems and services.
  2. Incident Response: Resolve, analyze, and respond to system outages and disruptions.
  3. Automation: Develop tools and scripts to automate operational processes.
  4. Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize system performance and resource usage.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Key Requirements:

  • Excellent understanding of software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response.
  • Strong experience with proactive monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning.
  • Ability to develop and maintain complex technical documentation and guides.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work closely with other teams and stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

  • Awareness of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • Unix background and Unix Shell scripting skills.
  • Batch Scripting.
