Revenue Accountant

At the forefront of our financial operations lies the position of Revenue Accountant, an individual tasked with ensuring seamless revenue recognition and timely financial reporting.

This role is deeply rooted in the principles of ASC 606 / IFRS 15 standards, where the candidate will meticulously review customer contracts and agreements to determine appropriate revenue treatment. They will collaborate closely with Sales Legal and FP&A teams to assess deal structures and guarantee alignment with revenue recognition policies.

The Revenue Accountant's responsibilities extend beyond data analysis, encompassing the preparation and maintenance of revenue schedules, journal entries, and reconciliations for month-end and quarter-end close. They will analyze deferred revenue billing schedules and revenue forecasts to support financial reporting and audit readiness, as well as partner with IT and finance systems teams to enhance automation and reporting capabilities related to revenue.

A cornerstone of this position is supporting external audits and internal controls by providing comprehensive documentation and insights into revenue processes. The ideal candidate will continuously monitor changes in accounting standards and advise on implications for revenue recognition.

  • Required Experience: A minimum of 3+ years in revenue accounting or revenue recognition preferably within a SaaS technology or services environment.
  • Professional Certifications: CPA or CA qualification preferred.
  • Key Skills:
  • ASC 606 / IFRS 15 Application: Strong understanding and practical application in complex contract scenarios.
  • ERP Systems: Proficiency in ERP systems and revenue sub-ledgers or modules.
  • Excel Skills: Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, formulas, reconciliations; experience with BI tools like Power BI or Tableau is advantageous.
  • Analytical Abilities: Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with finance legal and sales teams.
