Lead Mechanical Engineer

This is a senior role for an experienced mechanical engineer with strong leadership skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving end-to-end product design and development, from concept stage to production release.

  • Develop detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks with full GD&T and tolerance stack-up.
  • Translate customer/market requirements into innovative and manufacturable product designs.
  • Design products in plastics (injection moulding), sheet metal, die-casting, and machining.
  • Perform design calculations, DFMEA, and tolerance analysis for robust product performance.

The successful candidate will also lead and mentor a small team of engineers, collaborate cross-functionally with other teams, and work with vendors for prototyping, tooling, and production ramp-up.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in mechanical product design & development (NPD).
  • SolidWorks CAD expertise with simulation exposure (thermal/structural FEA preferred).
  • A proven ability to deliver end-to-end product designs from concept to market.
  • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design complete mechanical components: parts, sub-assemblies, and systems.
  • Develop detailed design specifications, including materials selection, tolerancing, and assembly methods.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure design compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong background in consumer electronics or similar domain experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
