This role takes the lead in providing effective team handling and timely delivery of assigned tasks, requiring strong knowledge in denial management, trend analysis, reports management, and process analytics.

The ideal candidate should have experience in Hospital Billing and Denial Management, leading and owning technical deliverables, and delivering high-quality solutions.

Essential responsibilities include reviewing medical records, coding billable revenue codes, and preparing information for west partners based on their expectations.

Specialized knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required for daily inputs, building functions, sorting, and filtering large amounts of data.

Candidates must adhere to company policies regarding security and confidentiality.

AAPC or AHIMA coding certifications are required, and 5-7 years of experience in Surgery, Behavioral Health, GI, Radiology, Anesthesia, Procedural is necessary.

Preferred qualifications include working knowledge in Epic and 3M 360, exposure to General and Cardiovascular Surgery coding, and multiple specialty experience.

As a seasoned Medical Coder, you will be responsible for developing and implementing efficient coding systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency in medical record coding, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date coding systems, including classification and code selection
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate and compliant coding practices
  • Provide training and support to staff on coding best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance coding accuracy and efficiency
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging trends

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in surgery, behavioral health, GI, radiology, anesthesia, procedural areas
  • Professional certifications such as AAPC or AHIMA
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software tools
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Epic and 3M 360
  • Working knowledge of general and cardiovascular surgery coding
