We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze database performance and implement solutions to optimize it.
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable technology solutions critical to our company's success.
  • Manage production databases servers, ensuring security, deployment, maintenance, and performance monitoring.
  • Set up SQL Server replication, mirroring, and high availability across hybrid environments.
  • Deploy and maintain on-premise installations of SQL Server on Linux/MySQL.
  • Database security and protection against SQL injection, intellectual property exploitation.
  • Collaborate with development teams on data storage and query design/optimization.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of essential applications.
  • Demonstrate expertise and contribute valuable insights throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Help design and implement lasting technology solutions.
  • Review current systems and suggest updates as needed.
  • Gather requirements from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Document procedures for setting up and maintaining highly available SQL Server databases on Azure, on-premise, and hybrid environments.
  • Test and debug new applications and updates.
  • Resolve reported issues and respond to queries in a timely manner.
  • Stay updated on best practices, trends, and industry developments.
  • Identify potential challenges and bottlenecks to address them proactively.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expert-level knowledge of SQL Server management on Hybrid environments.
  • Proficiency in MySQL Backup, SQL Server Backup, Replication, Clustering, Log shipping experience on Linux/Windows.
  • Experience with database usage and management.
  • Experience in implementing Azure Hyperscale database.
  • Experience in Financial Services/E-Commerce/Payments industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with multi-tier, object-oriented, secure application design architecture.
  • Experience in cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure on Database service tiers.
  • PCI DSS experience a plus.
  • SQL development experience a plus.
  • Linux experience a plus.
  • Proficient in issue tracking tools like Jira, etc.
  • Proficient in version control systems like Git, SVN, etc.
  • Strong understanding of web-based applications and technologies.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as SQL Server DBA and MySQL DBA, and 2+ years of experience as MySQL DBA including Replication, InnoDB Cluster, Upgrading, and Patching.
  • Ubuntu Linux knowledge preferred.
  • MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP/Azure DBA/MySQL certifications a plus.
