Firewall Engineer Position

We are seeking a highly motivated technical individual to fill the role of Firewall Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced multitasking environment, ensuring high first call resolution.
  • Research and resolve caller inquiries by utilizing established procedures, user manuals, and online resources.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and communications issues, interacting with application end-users, engineers, and vendors.
  • Continuously improve processes, identify areas for enhancement, and participate in training activities to stay up-to-date with new technologies.
  • Maintain knowledge of network protocols, including SSH, FTP, ICMP, TCP/IP, NAT, SNMP, IPSec, GRE, QoS, and VLANs.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work under pressure, and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems, TCP/IP, and networking concepts.
  • High level of ethics and integrity, with scheduling flexibility required.

About this Role:

This position requires a strong understanding of firewall implementation and support, including Meraki and Fortinet firewalls. The successful candidate will be able to effectively collaborate in a dynamic team environment, monitoring performance, capacity, and availability of firewalls. They will also recommend improvements in technologies and practices to increase metrics and maintain awareness of trends and developments in relevant technologies.
