This role is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of pastry items in a commercial kitchen. The ideal candidate will have experience working with baking ingredients, operating kitchen equipment, and maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of pastry items, including desserts, breads, and other sweet and savory pastries.
- Cooking and Baking: Cook and bake pastries to the correct temperature and texture.
- Quality Control: Inspect pastry items to ensure they meet high standards of quality and presentation.
- Safety and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment by following proper sanitation and safety procedures.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical or vocational training preferred.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience working in a commercial kitchen, preferably as a pastry specialist.
- Skills: Proficiency in baking and cooking techniques, ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment, and strong attention to detail.
- Certification: Food safety certification preferred.
- Availability: Availability to work varied shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
