The role of an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer involves leading the effort to develop, assign, and manage maintenance strategies for field instrumentation equipment. This supports asset reliability by developing and assigning appropriate equipment strategy.

Purpose & Accountabilities:

  • Perform engineering activities covering all key areas of instrumentation technology including field instruments, control and shutdown valves, analyzer, and control systems.
  • Review and update equipment maintenance strategy for instrumentation (e.g. Transmitters, control valves, flow meters, analyzers)
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure alignment of maintenance strategies with operational priorities.
  • Understand asset criticality analysis and asset strategy management.
  • Understand Preventive, Predictive, Condition monitoring tasks with respect to assets.
  • Standardize instrumentation maintenance procedure and test intervals across similar asset classes.
  • Know hazardous area classification, international instrumentation standards.
  • Skilled in Instrument Maintenance Techniques with understanding of preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of field instrumentation, including control valves, on-off valves, various field instruments.
