Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned data engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-performance, scalable data pipelines. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to architect and implement data models, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain optimal data lake setup for efficient data management.
  • Assemble large and complex datasets that meet functional/non-functional business requirements using SQL expertise.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements through automation, data delivery optimization, and infrastructure redesign for greater scalability.
  • Build infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources using advanced SQL knowledge.
  • Experience in building and optimizing 'big data' pipelines, architectures, and data sets is essential.
  • Perform root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop processes supporting data transformation, metadata, dependency, and workload management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in data pipeline and workflow management tools like Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, etc.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases.
  • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable 'big data' data stores.
