Job Title: SAP Basis Consultant

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled SAP Basis Consultant to join our team on a 12-month contract. As a key member of our SAP S4 Cloud infrastructure team, you will play a critical role in designing, maintaining, and optimizing our SAP S4 Cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Maintain ERP Infrastructure: Collaborate with project teams to design and maintain the ERP infrastructure, ensuring scalability, high availability, and fault tolerance.
  • Implement ERP Components: Partner with infrastructure teams to implement ERP components, including servers, storage, and network configurations.
  • Monitor ERP Infrastructure Health: Monitor ERP infrastructure health, performance, and capacity, taking proactive steps to ensure optimal operation.
  • Update and Maintain Cloud Configurations: Work with SAP's ECS team to update and maintain cloud configurations.
  • User Role and Access Management: Establish and maintain user roles, permissions, and access with IST security best practices in mind.
  • Disaster Recovery and Backup: Oversee disaster recovery plans, backup and recovery activities, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Collaborate with ERP Application Teams: Collaborate with ERP application teams to understand and implement specific infrastructure requirements.
  • Implement Security Measures: Coordinate with security teams to implement necessary security measures, ensuring compliance and safeguarding business data.
  • Performance Testing and Tuning: Conduct performance testing and tuning of the ERP infrastructure.
  • Optimize Database Performance: Partner with database administrators to optimize database performance and storage requirements.
  • Document Infrastructure Design: Document ERP infrastructure design, configurations, procedures, and architectural decisions.
  • Adhere to IST Standards: Ensure adherence to established IST standards and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • 5+ years in IST infrastructure roles, with at least 2 years focused on supporting SAP S4 Cloud environments.
    • Experience with enterprise infrastructure components, including servers (virtual/physical), storage solutions, and network configurations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Certifications related to infrastructure (e.g., MCSE, CCNA) or ERP solutions (e.g., SAP Technology Associate).
  • Strong Understanding: Strong understanding of high-availability and disaster recovery architectures for ERP solutions.
  • ERP Implementation Experience: Experience with 1 to 2 full-lifecycle implementations of an ERP solution.
  • Performance Monitoring Tools: Knowledge of performance monitoring and tuning tools specific to ERP environments.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex technical details clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
