Job Opportunity: Geographic Information System Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist.

About the Role:

  • The selected candidate will work on implementing GIS solutions using various technologies and tools.
  • This role requires strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing GIS solutions for business operations and decision-making purposes.
  • Maintaining and administering geodatabases using PostGIS and ArcGIS GeoDBs.
  • Troubleshooting map services for optimal performance.
  • Working with ESRI APIs and tools, such as ArcObjects and Geoprocessing.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in software development, preferably with GIS solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and TypeScript.
  • Knowledge of open-source GIS software like GeoServer, PostGIS, GDAL, GeoPandas, and GeoSpark.
  • Experience working with SQL databases, including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.
  • Ability to work in an agile environment using Scrum and Kanban methodologies.

Familiarity with cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, is a plus.
