Cost Analyst Position Overview

 

The Cost Analyst is a strategic and advisory role responsible for analyzing manufacturing and operational costs, developing and maintaining standard cost models, preparing and reviewing cost reports, and monitoring inventory levels.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing manufacturing and operational costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Developing and maintaining standard cost models for all food products and production processes.
  • Preparing and reviewing cost reports, budgets, and forecasts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Monitoring inventory levels, performing periodic physical inventory checks, and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Collaborating with procurement and production teams to track and manage waste, spoilage, and yield loss.
  • Assisting in pricing decisions by providing cost-based insights and profitability analysis.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and food safety regulations.
  • Supporting external audits and providing documentation as required.
  • Contributing to cost-saving initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and recommending process improvements.
  • Providing weekly and monthly reports.
  • Assisting in ad hoc projects.
