Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in daily operations to support business objectives.
  • Optimize database (SQL calls) for maximum performance by streamlining processes.
  • Collaborate with management in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Contribute to operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement through data analysis.
  • Experience with SQL and stored routines is essential.
  • Working knowledge of HA Proxy, ProxySQL or MaxScale is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in AWS database technologies like Aurora, RDS is desirable.
  • Monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles for key initiatives.
  • Maintain relationships with technology team members, external partners, and vendors to provide input regarding operational activity and strategic goals.
  • Monitor and analyze key metrics for the day-to-day performance of operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
  • Perform technical troubleshooting to diagnose, isolate, and correct data and database issues effectively.

Requirements:

  • 4 years of experience in MySQL management.
  • Experience in MySQL configuring HA and clustering solutions.
  • Large scale MySQL deployments.
  • MySQL sharding architecture and techniques.
  • Ability to work with Linux/Unix based OS Environment.
  • MS SQL experience is an asset.
  • Software as a service industry experience is beneficial.
  • Cloud experience is desirable.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and professional skills.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and anticipate customer needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, set, and implement priorities and manage multiple tasks.
