Plant Utilities and Maintenance Manager

The role of a Plant Utilities and Maintenance Manager involves overseeing the overall maintenance and reliable operation of all plant utilities, mechanical, and electrical systems, and equipment across the pharmaceutical facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of electrical, mechanical, utility, and process equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Lead the installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment and systems to maintain energy efficiency and continuous operation of the plant.
  • Manage HT/LT electrical systems, including transformers, switchgears, panels, cabling, and substations, to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Supervise mechanical utilities and process equipment, such as HVAC systems, purified water systems, and other critical utilities, to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Coordinate and review project schedules, equipment FAT, drawings, BOQs, and vendor documentation to ensure timely completion and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with GMP, safety, and environmental standards to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Manage site inspections, ensure quality execution, and resolve technical issues during installation or operation to minimize disruptions.
  • Prepare and review maintenance documentation, progress reports, SOPs, and ensure timely invoice processing to maintain accurate records.
  • Liaise with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional departments to support project execution and plant operations.
  • Implement and improve maintenance best practices, cost control, and reliability strategies to optimize plant performance.

Requirements:

  • Experience: > 7 years in Pharmaceutical APIs or related field manufacturing organization.
  • Education: Degree in engineering or related field is required; master's degree in operations, engineering management, or maintenance management is optional.
