Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to join our team at Elsevier, a global leader in information and analytics. As a key member of our Shared Identity Platforms team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust data architectures that support our business goals.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, data governance, and data technologies such as SQL, Oracle, RDBMS, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, MongoDB, RDF, Turtle, and JSON-LD. You will work closely with teams from shared technologies, focusing on data architecture for identity teams. Your technical expertise will guide and coach teams during design and architecture, while also supporting them during implementation to avoid technical debt and reduce current technical debt.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and implement data architectures that meet business requirements
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize data initiatives
* Develop and maintain data models using Erwin, Toad, or similar tools
* Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across all data assets
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data technologies

Requirements

* 5+ years of experience in data architecture, with a focus on data modeling, data governance, and data technologies
* Strong understanding of data lake, Snowflake, Airflow, ETL/ELT tools, Oracle Data Warehouse, and data cataloging systems like Collibra
* Excellent problem-solving skills, with experience leading teams to troubleshoot complex project issues
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to present complex information to senior management and stakeholders
* Familiarity with GDPR and other data governance regulations in EU/US
