Sr. Cyber Analyst - Network Detection & Response Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Sr. Cyber Analyst with deep expertise in Network Detection & Response to lead our NDR strategy and execution across client environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and optimize IDS/IPS rules (Suricata, Snort, Zeek) for enhanced network security.
  • Perform deep network forensics, anomaly detection, and traffic analysis to identify potential threats.
  • Manage and tune firewall security controls across major vendors (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, SonicWall, Watchguard, etc.) for optimal performance.
  • Mentor and train junior analysts in network detection and response techniques.
  • Map detections to MITRE ATT&CK and other frameworks for comprehensive threat intelligence.

Requirements:

  • Certifications: CCNA Security, CCNP, CCIE (Preferred), GSEC.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP protocols for effective network communication.
  • Expertise in IDS/IPS technologies (Suricata, Snort, Zeek) for advanced threat detection.
  • Hands-on experience with firewall security management (Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet, PFsense, etc.) for robust network defense.
  • Experience with network forensics and Netflow/Biflow analysis for detailed threat investigation.
  • Strong scripting ability (Python, Bash) for automation and log parsing.
  • Working knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework for threat intelligence.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across technical and business teams.
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor junior analysts for skill development.
