Job Description

The role of Solar Design General Manager involves leading a team of engineers and designers in creating and implementing solar projects. This position requires managing the design lifecycle from conceptualization to execution, ensuring projects meet technical specifications, are cost-effective, and adhere to industry standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing entire solar PV power plants
  • Coordinating with project managers, site engineers, and other stakeholders
  • Developing and reviewing design plans, specifications, and construction documents
  • Ensuring compliance with local, national, and international codes and standards
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and suppliers to define project requirements
  • Presenting design solutions and progress updates to stakeholders
  • Addressing any concerns and incorporating feedback into design revisions
  • Staying updated with the latest innovations and technology trends in solar PV design

Additional responsibilities include conducting feasibility studies and technical analysis, implementing best practices and industry advancements, and monitoring quality assurance processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

This role requires a strong educational background in electrical engineering, coupled with extensive experience in solar PV design and project management. Key qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in solar PV design and project management of single plants of 100 MWp and higher
  • Design expertise to conceptualize and design HT Evacuation infrastructure for utility scale Solar Projects
  • Proficiency in design software and tools such as AutoCAD, PVSyst, Sketchup, and Helioscope
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
