Financial Accountant Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial records.

About the Role

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and reviewing management and financial accounts
  • Performing calculations, reviews, and approvals of accounting entries
  • Ensuring accurate recording of revenue and expenses
  • Managing indirect and operational tax-related activities
  • Providing information for group reporting, including financial statement notes
  • Maintaining strong financial controls, including preparation and review of reconciliations
Responsibilities

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will also be responsible for:

  • Recommending process improvements for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ensuring compliance with policies and IFRS, making necessary adjustments
  • Providing technical support on accounting treatments for accurate reporting
  • Coordinating internal and external audits for compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Participating in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Supporting continuous improvement projects and remediation of audit findings
  • Developing strong relationships with internal stakeholders (treasury, tax, finance ops) and external auditors
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in GL/R2R
  • Commerce Graduate (BCom / MCom Finance)
  • Strong knowledge of financial processes, statements, and risks related to balance sheet positions
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
